Everything you need to know to tune into the Remote SwiMMinD Games

The race to determine “the fastest swimmers on the universe” has just began. The 2019 Remote SwiMMinD Games kicked off on Monday 1 October 2018 with its first stage, “the Nationals.” This stage is open to anyone, anywhere in the universe. Thousands, millions of swimmers are welcomed to upload their video races and challenge themselves to race against other swimmers without leaving their local pools.

We are starting earlier, in October 2018, not in January 2019 because it is the first ever video race for “the fastest swimmers on the universe”.

Here’s everything you need to know about the SwiMMinD Games or how to become the fastest swimmer in the universe.

I. What are the SwiMMinD Games?

It is great if you are one of the first to learn about this exclusive and exciting opportunity. SwiMMinD Games qualify, and award swimmers interested to compete globally without leaving their local pools, remotely.

Stage 1 – Nationals

Each country represents a virtual, remote racing arena. The Nationals Stage has the biggest duration because we want to give many opportunities to any level

swimmers. Thus, a swimmer from developing countries will have a great motivation to be one of the best in its own country.

At the end of the Nationals period, 30 June 2019, the best 100 swimmers per event shall advance to the next stage of competition, the Regionals. For instance, on 50 m. Freestyle, the first 100 people will qualify for the Regionals.

Men and Women will be placed separately.

Stage 2 – Regionals

The Race continues but this time on the Regional level. The Competing regions are as follows:

  •  United States of America and Canada.
  • Europe and Australia.
  • Latin America, Asia and Africa.

National identity stays throughout the competition. Hence, if during the Nationals a German wins the 50 m. Freestyle, during the Regionals (combining Europe and Australia) he will still compete as German.

At the end of the Regionals period, 30 November 2019, the best 10 swimmers per event shall advance to the next stage of competition, the Global Race. For instance, on 50 m. Freestyle, the first 10 people will qualify for the Global Race.

Stage 3 – Global Race

It takes one month. There will be various Awards for the global winners. During the first two stages there will be also Awards. Our plan is to have a three-day live competition in this stage, but this depends on the popularity of the Games. Therefore, let’s make this event truly a race of the universe by entering into the race NOW and we will have a live competition in the first year.

II. Who makes it to the SwiMMinD Games?

Anyone is eligible to participate in “the Nationals”, the first stage of the SwiMMinD Games season. From there, the top 100 swimmers from each event in each country move on to the second stage, the SwiMMinD Games Regionals which are also done remotely. For the last stage only the best 10 swimmers (male and female) per event qualify.  Once again, this stage could be a live event but all that depends on the popularity. Therefore, please register in order to enter the race NOW and make this race for the fastest men and women of the universe popular by sharing this post or comment on it bellow.
