The following survival skills should be taught as a sequence and practiced in pairs or groups.
- Enter water safely.
- Glide forward and kick 3 meters, recover to a standing position. Holding a flotation aid float for 30 seconds.
- exit safely from water.
- Grasp an object and be pulled to safety (by a person, from a position out of the water)
