SUGGESTED STEPS & TEACHING POINTS

Revise forward glide – see skill no. 10

Step 1 – Land drill or in shallow water

  • Lie on back, legs slightly bent
  • Hands by hips – palms down
  • Move hands out – thumbs down
  • Move hands in – thumbs up

Step 2 – Whole skill – (waist deep then deeper)

  • Sink down
  • Head back
  • Lift knees
  • Lie back and scull

MUST SEE

  • Effective kick
  • Arm recovery clear of the water
  • Face in the water, exhaling
