Safety survival sequence no. 3

Water depth: chest deep (minimum)


The following survival skills should be taught as a sequence and practiced in pairs or groups.

  • Enter water safely.
  • Glide and swim 10m before recovering to upright position. Grasp a flotation aid thrown for support and float for 60 seconds the kick to safety.
  • Support the body in an upright position (basic hand and leg action) and signal distress.
