Giant Glide

How to play:

The objective of this game is for the students to experience gliding and the exhilaration of gliding fast.

  • The first student pushes off the end of the wall, face-down in a streamlined body position.
  • When they reach the second student, they are further propelled in the same direction by a forceful push to hips or feet.
  • This continues until the student needs to take a breath or reaches the end of the line.
  • Students rotate positions so all experience the glide.

This activity can also be done on the back.

Number: Up to 10.

Organization: Students line up approximately 1.5 – 2.0 meters apart.

Area: Shallow to waist-deep water – minimum of 10 meters length is required for maximum benefit. For safety, make sure students do not get pushed int a wall.
